Information Collected and How it is Used

Game statistics (“stats”) associated with a team name and jersey number (and hence a player’s name as determined by the team’s roster) are collected and stored on a per-game basis for the Belmont Cup Hockey League (“League”).  All information comes from the official game scoresheets, as dictated by the League referees to the League scorekeeper during the game; more specifically, games played, goals, assists, and penalties.

Stats data is stored in a secured cloud-based database.  Such statistics may be aggregated, analyzed, and|or displayed in graphical and|or tabular formats on the League website (“website”) and|or Android mobile app (“mobile app”).    The presentation of stats is solely for the use of entertainment by League participants only; i.e., to enhance the participant’s experience in the League.

The website and mobile app are maintained by a third-party software developer (“Site Admin”).

Do note that information from the scoresheets may be inaccurate – please read the Terms of Use document.  You may contact the League and Site Admin to report inaccuracies – see the Contact section below.  However, it is left to the discretion of the League and the Site Admin to make any changes, or not.

The website is private – to access the website a user must enter a correct username and password to enter.  There is a generic username and password for all league members; i.e., “Member” level access.  When logged-in to the Member account, no personally identifiable information is displayed.  Stats are listed by first name plus last initial, team name, and jersey number.

Optionally, players may register with the website by following the directions shown in the website’s Help page.  When registering for “Player” level access, the player’s email address, first name, and last name are collected.  This information is only used to identify the player and to assign their personal stats to themself.

Registered Players may optionally update their player profile information which can include personal information as well as a photo.  Players are responsible for their own information.  The League and Site Admin will remove any and all inappropriate photos or information; i.e., anything deemed not family-friendly.  Repeated infractions will result in the player losing access to the website and mobile app.  Player profile information is used only to help facilitate congeniality amongst the players – the idea being that everyone gets to know everyone else in the League.

Optionally (see Opt-in section below), a registered player may opt-in to allow other logged-in Players and league Members to see their full name and possibly photos and|or videos that include themselves or likenesses thereof.  Multimedia assets (photos, videos, audio) may be collected from game play, trophy presentation, League gatherings, etc.  They may be posted to the website and|or mobile app, but will only be visible to Members and Players if the player(s) has|have opted-in.  These assets are presented solely for the entertainment of the League participants.

There may be some stats that are collected but are not displayed; e.g., PIMs and detailed information about penalties.  Such information is only visible to the League and is only used to determine players’ suitability for continuing to play in the League.

No information is shared with any parties outside of the League, nor is any information even visible to any parties outside of the League.

No other personal information is collected or stored either directly or through the use of information gathering technologies.

No other non-personally identifiable information about your use of the site is collected or stored through the use of information gathering technologies.

No third party advertisers or contact lists are used.

No image processing, image analysis, or facial recognition software is used on photos or videos that appear on the website or mobile app.

Information Disclosure

No personally identifiable information is shared, rented, or sold with anyone outside of the League.

Information that is required by law or legal process or under circumstances that are reasonably necessary to protect the personal safety of members of the League, the rink, or the public may be provided to the appropriate authorities.
